Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of one year operating Braille typing equipment
• Certification as a Braille transcriber preferred
• Experience with school-aged children beneficial
• Ability to collaborate with Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVIs)

Role Responsibilities:

• Convert printed educational materials, tests, textbooks, and classroom handouts into Braille
• Ensure all Braille materials align with curricular standards and meet students individual needs
• Work in concert with TVIs to provide academic equity for visually impaired students
• Manage full-time hours through the academic year (mid-August to June)
• Primary assignment within a dynamic secondary academy environment
