Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Minimum of one years experience using Braille typing equipment
  • Certification as a Braille transcriber preferred
  • Previous experience in a school setting or supporting individuals with visual impairments desirable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform a range of educational print materials (textbooks, worksheets, assessments) into Braille
  • Collaborate closely with TVIs to maintain accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure that students receive accessible content and have equal access to schoolwork
  • Work with supervision provided by district staff
  • Manage a caseload of secondary school students with varying needs
