Qualifications:

• State certification or endorsement as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working in schools or educational programs serving students with visual impairments
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive devices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Flexible, organized, and able to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students to determine their unique visual and educational needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student
• Provide direct instruction in areas such as Braille, use of low-vision tools, and daily living skills
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt materials and environments for accessibility
• Train staff, students, and families to use adaptive technology and strategies
• Advocate for student inclusion, access, and success across all school settings
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records
