Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment or eligibility for certification
• Experience adapting instructional materials to meet varied visual needs
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility concepts
• Excellent communication skills for working across teams and with families
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for fostering student growth and independence

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction in areas such as Braille literacy, technology usage, and daily living skills
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt materials and integrate accessible strategies
• Advocate for accessible environments and appropriate accommodations
• Regularly communicate with caregivers, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain clear, organized documentation of student progress
