Job Description

Youll have the opportunity to help determine your caseload and age group placement during the interview, ensuring the best fit for your experience and teaching style.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia Educator Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Prior experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to complete daily log documentation of services delivered
  • Willingness to collaborate with the district during the interview process to identify the ideal age group and caseload
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities for accessibility, promoting independence and academic growth
  • Liaise with other school staff, families, and service providers to ensure cohesive support for each student
  • Maintain clear and accurate records through daily service logs
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and pre- and post-term planning days as required
