This full-time, onsite contract role spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with the option to discuss part-time hours based on your availability and preference. Youll have the opportunity to help determine your caseload and age group placement during the interview, ensuring the best fit for your experience and teaching style.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Prior experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting strongly preferred
- Ability to complete daily log documentation of services delivered
- Willingness to collaborate with the district during the interview process to identify the ideal age group and caseload
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities for accessibility, promoting independence and academic growth
- Liaise with other school staff, families, and service providers to ensure cohesive support for each student
- Maintain clear and accurate records through daily service logs
- Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and pre- and post-term planning days as required
