Job Description

This rewarding position is based near Hackberry and Kingman, AZ, and offers the chance to empower learners while collaborating with educators and families. Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with a 20-hour-per-week, contract arrangement running from July 15, 2026, through May 19, 2027.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid credential or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in teaching students with visual impairments
  • Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to fostering independence and educational growth for all learners
  • Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Passion for inclusive education and advocacy for student needs

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized, one-on-one and group instruction to students who are visually impaired
  • Assess students unique learning styles, needs, and strengths
  • Implement strategies that help students access core curriculum
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, aides, and related service personnel to ensure full educational participation
  • Provide training and support on Braille, orientation and mobility, low vision devices, and assistive technology
  • Monitor and document progress, participating actively in IEP meetings
  • Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages student confidence and independence
