Make a real difference as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, supporting students in a vibrant educational environment near Hackberry, AZ. This contract opportunity spans from July 15th, 2026 through May 19th, 2027, offering a chance to engage deeply while maintaining work-life balance, with a commitment of 20 hours per week.
In this specialized role, youll empower students with visual impairments by adapting curriculum, implementing individualized educational plans (IEPs), and collaborating closely with general educators and families. Your expertise will nurture independence, confidence, and academic growth in each student you support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience or training in working with students who have visual impairments
- Familiarity with Braille, adaptive technology, and accessible instructional resources
- Ability to develop and monitor IEPs for students with visual impairments
- Strong communication and consultative skills when partnering with staff, families, and external professionals
- Dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students with vision loss or impairment
- Assess student needs and progress related to vision-specific goals
- Modify and develop instructional materials to meet accessibility standards
- Advocate for student participation in all aspects of the educational setting
- Support teachers and staff in implementing accommodations and strategies for accessibility
