Make a real difference in the lives of students by supporting those with visual impairments in a dynamic educational setting. This contract position serves K-12 students throughout the district, offering a unique opportunity to impact a wide range of learners with varying needs. The assignment is full-time, at 37.5 hours per week, and lasts through the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a school setting.
• Ability to adapt curriculum and materials to support accessible learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, teachers, and family members.
• Experience servicing K-12 populations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students throughout the school district.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Utilize specialized instructional strategies and adaptive technologies to foster student independence.
• Provide support, training, and resources to teachers and staff on best practices for visually impaired learners.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure student success.
• Serve as an advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and equal educational opportunities.

Assignment Details:

• Contract duration: ASAP through May 21, 2027.
• Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week.
