Job Description

Make an impact on students lives as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired working with a supportive school community. This contract opportunity offers the flexibility to tailor your schedule, with an assignment beginning August 11, 2026, and running through May 21, 2027. With approximately 10 hours per week, you'll provide specialized instruction to a diverse caseloadserving students of varying ages in a range of school settings, as well as occasional homebound situations.

Youll collaborate with educators and families to ensure every students unique needs are met. Your day-to-day will be dynamic, sometimes requiring travel to different buildings within the district, ensuring each student receives the support they deserve.

Key Qualifications:

  • Ohio Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
  • Knowledge of adaptive technology and tactile learning materials
  • Ability to design and implement individualized educational programs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to adapt services to changing needs and locations
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students (preferred)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Delivering direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
  • Collaborating with general and special education staff, as well as families, to optimize success
  • Developing and adapting IEP goals to meet each students individual needs
  • Providing instruction on Braille, assistive technology, and independent living skills
  • Traveling between school buildings as needed based on student schedules
  • Participating in virtual and in-person meetings as required
