This contract-based opportunity in the Grove City, OH area offers you the chance to support learners across a diverse age range, tailoring specialized instruction to their needs for the upcoming academic year. With a flexible schedule of approximately 10 hours per week, your expertise will be valued as you collaborate with schools and adjust your work environment to serve students in various buildingsoccasionally even in home settings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Ohio Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, across multiple age groups is highly preferred
- Strong communication and adaptability skills for working in multiple school locations and with varied caseloads
- Comfortable providing both in-person and, at times, homebound instructional support
- Ability to use assistive technology and create accessible instructional materials
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and small group instruction to visually impaired students, supporting their access to the curriculum
- Assess student needs and develop customized education plans in collaboration with school teams
- Travel between school buildings within the district as needed, occasionally providing instruction in a homebound setting
- Consult with educators, families, and support staff to foster inclusive learning environments
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and progress reporting
