This contract opportunity is designed for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) dedicated to empowering learners with diverse needs. With a flexible 10-hour weekly schedule beginning August 2026 and concluding in May 2027, this position offers the chance to work with students across various ages and caseloads, occasionally providing services in different school buildings or in homebound settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Ohio TVI certification required
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with visual impairments preferred
- Strong understanding of adaptive strategies, Braille instruction, and assistive technology for the visually impaired
- Willingness to travel between school buildings as needed
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with educators, families, and support teams
- Comfortable utilizing remote platforms for periodic meetings and documentation
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels
- Adapt curriculum materials and environments to meet students needs
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEP goals, and track student progress
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
- Provide guidance on technology and tools that facilitate student learning
- Occasionally support homebound students to ensure continuity of services
