Job Summary
A school district in Greenville, NC is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a fulltime, onsite contract. This role supports K12 students with visual impairments through specialized instruction, accommodations, and collaboration with educational teams. Candidates must hold appropriate licensure or certification to provide vision services in a school setting.
Responsibilities
Provide direct instructional services to students with visual impairments
Develop and implement goals aligned with IEPs and student needs
Adapt instructional materials, curriculum, and environments for accessibility
Instruct students in compensatory skills, including Braille and assistive technology as needed
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families
Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments as appropriate
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal guidelines
Required Qualifications
Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification or licensure
Bachelors or Masters degree in Visual Impairment Education or related field
Ability to pass background checks and required clearances
Schoolbased experience preferred (new graduates welcome if credentialed)
