Job Description
A full-time teaching opportunity is available in Greensboro, NC for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students. This onsite, contract position offers educators the chance to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive instructional services tailored to the unique needs of students with visual impairments across all grade levels (K-12).
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) focused on students' academic, functional, and social development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, families, and related service providers to facilitate inclusive learning environments.
- Employ assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance student accessibility.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Valid NC Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) license is required.
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments in a K-12 setting is preferred.
- Ability to create engaging, differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
