Assignment Details:
- Contract duration: August 3, 2026 May 26, 2027 (dates subject to change)
- Full-time schedule
- Engaging with students across various grade levels
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in the state
- Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired is preferred
- Strong communication skills and commitment to inclusive education
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Knowledge of adaptive technologies and accessible materials
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored, evidence-based instruction to students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams
- Utilize and instruct students on Braille, assistive technology, and other adaptive strategies
- Serve as a liaison and resource for staff and families regarding visual impairment needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional techniques for optimal learning
- Support students social, emotional, and academic development within the classroom and the broader school community
