Key Qualifications:

• Active Maryland Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure is required
• Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision preferred
• Familiarity with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive curriculum materials
• Ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students in grades K-12, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet diverse visual needs
• Evaluate and monitor student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
• Create an accessible classroom environment that fosters independence and learning for students
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to support student goals
• Utilize Braille, tactile graphics, and technology appropriate for students abilities
• Advocate for student needs, supporting transitions and promoting positive outcomes
