This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide specialized instruction for students who are visually impaired within a dedicated school for the blind in Glen Burnie, MD. The role involves delivering tailored educational services to K-12 students, supporting their academic and functional vision skills development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instructional programs for visually impaired students
- Conduct assessments and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
- Utilize assistive technology and low vision aids to enhance learning experiences
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports aligned with education standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold a valid Maryland Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure
- Proven expertise teaching visually impaired students across the K-12 spectrum
- Strong understanding of visual impairment strategies, assessments, and accommodations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within an educational team
