Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State TVI license is required
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired is highly desirable
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable adapting instructional methods and materials for diverse learners
- Tech-savvy; able to leverage digital and adaptive resources
- Passionate about student advocacy and inclusive education
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in a variety of school settings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Consult with educators, families, and staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and accessibility
- Monitor student progress, adapt strategies as needed, and maintain thorough records
- Support transition planning and life skills for students preparing for new academic levels or post-school environments
