Make an impact by supporting K-12 students across York County as a dedicated professional specializing in visual impairment education. This contract opportunity places you alongside passionate district staff, working within multiple school districts to foster academic and personal growth for visually impaired students. Youll be providing essential instruction and support as a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired, making a meaningful difference each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Holds a valid Pennsylvania teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 settings preferred
- Comfortable serving multiple sites in an itinerant capacity
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork with district educators and families
- Ability to design and implement individualized instructional strategies
- Proficiency in assistive technology and Braille preferred
Role Highlights:
- Deliver high-quality, specialized instruction to K-12 students across Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown districts
- Advocate for students unique learning needs and accommodations
- Develop and adapt curricula and resources to ensure accessibility
- Liaison between school staff, families, and support teams to share expertise and recommend strategies
- Monitor progress and adjust programming as needed throughout the school year
- Participate in IEP meetings to contribute professional insight and support academic goals
- Contract commitment from August 18, 2026, through June 1, 2027
