This contract role offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction to help students develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive academically and personally. Work closely with a caseload of 20-23 students, each with unique needs, and collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license and certifications
• Experience teaching or providing services to students who are blind or visually impaired, preferably in a school environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to adapt instruction for an onsite setting
• Dedication to fostering student independence, advocacy, and academic success
• Passion for inclusive education and supporting diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and specialized services to students with visual impairments in accordance with IEPs
• Assess and track student progress, developing and adapting educational materials and strategies as needed
• Serve as a resource and advocate for visually impaired students within the school community
• Consult with general education teachers, providing support and training to ensure accessibility
• Maintain accurate records, collaborate on IEP planning, and participate in team meetings

This onsite position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule of 37.5 hours per week, allowing you to build strong relationships and provide ongoing support for students.
