Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Visually Impaired (VI) teaching certification
• Knowledge of best practices for instructing students with visual impairments
• Familiarity with assistive technology and accessible curriculum materials
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies for K-12 grade levels
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and specialists
• Experience supporting students across multiple settings is a plus
• Dedication to advocacy and inclusive education

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative instruction to a caseload of 10 students across the district
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with other professionals
• Ensure the use of Braille, large print, or adaptive technologies as appropriate
• Train staff, students, and families in the use of assistive devices and accessible resources
• Contribute to transition planning and develop functional, life, and academic skills
• Track and document student progress, goals, and required accommodations
• Serve as a resource for inclusive practices and accessibility
