Both full-time and part-time positions are available, starting August 2026 and continuing through the end of the school year.

Qualifications:

  • Active Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) license in Virginia
  • Experience supporting students with visual impairments preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to design and implement individualized educational plans
  • Comfortable working with students across different age groups
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum as needed
  • Develop and monitor individualized education plans in conjunction with IEP teams
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff to address student needs
  • Offer support in orientation, mobility training, and daily living skills instruction
  • Consult with families to extend learning and encourage independence at home
  • Evaluate progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success
