Step into the impactful role of a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and empower students to achieve their greatest potential. This full-time, contract assignment, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year, serves an engaged caseload of 14 students in the Franklin, VA area.

As an educator passionate about supporting students with visual impairments, youll collaborate closely with students, families, and educational teams to deliver tailored instruction and specialized services. Youll harness your expertise to promote independence, academic achievement, and meaningful participation in the classroom.

What were looking for:

• Active Teaching License for Visual Impairment in Virginia
• Demonstrated experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired preferred
• Proficiency creating and adapting instructional materials for various levels of visual impairment
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, colleagues, and related service providers
• Enthusiasm for supporting diverse learning styles and needs
• Organizational skills for developing and maintaining student documentation

You will be responsible for:

• Providing direct instruction and consultative services to a caseload of 14 students
• Adapting curriculum content and materials to ensure accessibility and engagement
• Conducting functional vision and learning media assessments
• Supporting the use of assistive technology and other adaptive tools
• Participating in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and team collaboration
• Advocating for students needs within the educational environment
