Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or related field
• Experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments in school settings
• Ability to develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse access needs
• Knowledge of adaptive technology, Braille, tactile graphics, and orientation and mobility strategies
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, both individually and in small groups
• Assess student needs and prepare educational materials in accessible formats, including Braille and large print
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to modify instructional materials
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and progress monitoring of student goals
• Offer consultation and training for staff and families on best practices and assistive technology
• Support students with orientation and mobility skills within the school environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
