Job Description
Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a dynamic educational setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite with a diverse group of 20-23 students, each presenting a unique set of needs. Your expertise will directly foster their academic growth and independence.
As a valued team member, youll enjoy a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, working collaboratively with other education professionals to deliver specialized instruction and support.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current North Carolina Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure and certifications required
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students who are visually impaired strongly preferred
- Proven ability to adapt teaching methodologies for students with varying abilities and needs
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage caseloads efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to students who are visually impaired
- Assess students abilities and implement appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams
- Track and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Provide resources and guidance to classroom teachers and families to support student success across environments
- Remain onsite during all scheduled hours; this is not a virtual or hybrid position
