Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school environments in a contract opportunity running from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027. This full-time position offers the chance to work Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, providing consistent support throughout the school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Previous experience delivering specialized instruction to students with visual impairments is preferred
  • Strong grasp of appropriate instructional methods and adaptation strategies
  • Ability to conduct ongoing assessments using formal and informal measures
  • Familiarity with attending and contributing to ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
  • Experience working across various grade levels is beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in elementary, middle, and high school settings
  • Develop, implement, and adapt individualized lesson plans according to student IEPs and district requirements
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional methods as needed
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, families, and school staff
  • Participate in relevant ARD meetings, preparing and presenting necessary documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and services delivered
