Job Description

Shape student success as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in an impactful contract role for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, offering a structured 37.5-hour workweek. The caseload spans across various grade levels, allowing you to utilize your specialized training and vision-specific instructional methods to meet diverse student needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct essential assessments, and actively participate in student progress meetings to create personalized, inclusive learning experiences.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI)
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments across multiple educational levels
  • Familiarity with creating and adapting instructional materials and methods tailored for visually impaired learners
  • Skilled in performing both formal and informal assessments to monitor student growth
  • Ability to prepare for and attend ARD/IEP meetings as required
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in elementary through high school settings
  • Customize curricular resources to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners
  • Partner with general and special education staff to maximize student success
