Job Description

A K-12 school in Fairport, NY is seeking a part-time teacher specializing in education for students who are blind or visually impaired. This contract assignment will begin in January 2026 and run through the end of June 2026, offering up to four days per week with a flexible schedule Monday through Friday. The exact caseload and location details will be determined based on availability.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State teaching license for Blind and Visually Impaired education (submission of license PDF required)
  • Experience working with blind or visually impaired students in a K-12 setting
  • Ability to deliver specialized instruction tailored to visual impairments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and adapt instructional strategies as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are blind or visually impaired
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with students needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement appropriate accommodations
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to student progress and services delivered
  • Communicate regularly with families and participate in related meetings

Location: Fairport, NY
Schedule: Up to 4 days per week, Monday through Friday
