Step into a rewarding opportunity to support K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the Denver area. This contract position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, offering the chance to make meaningful connections with young learners navigating visual impairments. As the school district finalizes staff assignments and caseloads, flexibility is keyfull-time and part-time needs are to be determined. Assignments across one or more local schools will vary, providing unique variety throughout your contract.

Your expertise will be vital as you work collaboratively with educators, students, and families to tailor and deliver effective instructional strategies. Candidates will have opportunities to impact students ranging from elementary through high school, supporting access to curricula and fostering essential life skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and active CDE (Colorado Department of Education) certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired.
• Previous experience teaching visually impaired students in a school setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to develop and adjust IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) to address individual student needs.
• Comfort working across age groups and in multiple school settings as needed.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Willingness to complete required background check and fingerprinting as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to ensure inclusive educational practices.
• Adapt materials, teach braille and assistive technology, and consult on classroom modifications.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings.
• Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.

This is a contract position beginning August 6, 2026, through May 26, 2027, offering the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated educational community.
