Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and help shape the educational journey of students from Pre-K through transition age. This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule with the flexibility of itinerant placements across multiple school sites within a dynamic district near Elgin, Illinois. As a key member of the Vision Related Services Department, youll collaborate with colleagues, provide direct support to students and their families, and promote best practices in the field of visual impairment education.

Ideal candidates are passionate educators dedicated to mentoring and guiding others, advocating for resources, and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Active Professional Educators License (PEL) with an endorsement for teaching students with visual impairments
• Masters degree in a related field
• At least five years of school-based experience working with visually impaired students
• Proven track record in mentoring, coaching, or training educational staff
• Ability to satisfy time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprint clearance
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative vision services to students from early childhood through transition age
• Travel between multiple school sites to meet diverse student needs
• Serve as a leader within the Vision Related Services Department, supporting, training, and mentoring staff
• Assist with problem-solving and advocate for appropriate resources
• Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to help students achieve academic and personal success

This is an on-site only positionremote or virtual options are not available. The need is for two educators, and both full- and part-time applicants are encouraged to apply.
