Take on a meaningful opportunity supporting students throughout their educational journey as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This full-time contract role will involve traveling between school sites within a welcoming district, serving students from Pre-K through transition programs. Begin making a difference as part of the Vision Related Services Department, where your experience and leadership will provide essential support to students, families, and staff.

With a schedule totaling 37.5 hours each week (7.5 hours daily), this position is primarily full-time but is potentially open to candidates seeking part-time arrangements. The setting is strictly on-site, providing an engaging, interactive environment to collaborate closely with fellow professionals.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Professional Educators License (PEL) with a visual impairment teaching endorsement.
• Masters degree in a relevant field required.
• At least five years of experience in a school-based environment teaching students with visual impairments.
• Successful completion of required fingerprinting before start date.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instructional and consultative vision-related services to students from early childhood through transition.
• Mentor and coach new and returning staff in best practices for vision-related education.
• Provide leadership and guidance for the Vision Related Services Department, promoting collaboration and advocacy.
• Engage with families, helping ensure the highest quality educational experience for all students on your caseload.
• Facilitate professional development and training, assisting colleagues with resources and problem-solving.
