Make a meaningful impact this summer by supporting students with visual impairments in a specialized educational environment. We're seeking a dedicated professional with experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for an ESY (Extended School Year) contract position. You'll work within a highly supportive setting focused on students who have severe behavioral and physical disabilities.
This opportunity runs from June 8, 2026, to August 4, 2026, with consistent daytime hours (Monday through Thursday, 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM), totaling 20 hours per week. Your caseload will consist of 1015 students, all within a single building, allowing you to build strong, supportive relationships and foster growth. The majority of your work will take place at one of the Education Centers located near Plymouth.
Ideal qualifications and experience:
- Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous work with blind or visually impaired students (BVI) required
- Experience supporting students with severe behavioral and/or physical disabilities highly preferred
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, adaptability, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

- Delivering tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Assessing student needs and developing individualized plans
- Adapting curriculum materials into accessible formats
- Collaborating with staff and families to maximize student success
