Provide specialized instruction and support as a Visually Impaired Teacher dedicated to enhancing learning experiences for students with visual impairments in a school setting located in Dudley, MA. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students educational journeys by tailoring teaching methods and materials to meet their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the needs of visually impaired students.
- Implement adaptive teaching techniques and utilize specialized instructional materials.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
- Teach essential skills such as braille, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to maximize educational outcomes.
- Provide consultation and training to school personnel on best practices for educating visually impaired students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or endorsement in visual impairment education.
- Experience working directly with students who have visual impairments.
