Your primary role will involve delivering specialized instruction to visually impaired learners, collaborating with general education teachers, and developing tailored educational plans. With a manageable 25-hour workweek, youll enjoy a balanced schedule throughout the academic year, starting August 17th, 2026, and concluding May 26th, 2027.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid KY SPED License with a Visual Impairment (VI) endorsement
- Proven background in instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
- Ability to assess, adapt, and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
- Dedication to advocating for student independence and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for visually impaired students across grade levels
- Modify curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility
- Collaborate with educators and families to monitor progress and adjust strategies
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
- Offer consultative services and share resources with classroom teachers
