Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (FL TVI) License required
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments, preferably in a K-12 setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and environments to meet individual student needs
- Knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility strategies is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum materials to accessible formats and utilize specialized instructional strategies
- Assess student progress and update goals as needed
- Support classroom teachers and staff with resources and training related to visual impairment
