Qualifications:

• Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (FL TVI) License required
• Experience teaching students with visual impairments, preferably in a K-12 setting
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt instructional materials and environments to meet individual student needs
• Knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility strategies is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Adapt curriculum materials to accessible formats and utilize specialized instructional strategies
• Assess student progress and update goals as needed
• Support classroom teachers and staff with resources and training related to visual impairment
