Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility to obtain one
  • Experience in adapting curriculum and utilizing assistive technology for the visually impaired
  • Strong knowledge of Braille instruction and related tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to assess individual student needs and design personalized learning plans
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting, preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress toward goals
  • Adapt classroom materials and introduce accessible technology resources
  • Serve as a resource to staff on best practices for supporting visually impaired students
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture
  • Advocate for student accessibility needs and ensure compliance with all educational regulations
