Job Description
Make an impact by supporting students with visual impairments on a districtwide level. This contract opportunity presents the chance to work closely with learners and school teams in various schools near Cypress, TX, serving as an itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI). Youll collaborate with educators, families, and staff, creating accessible learning environments and empowering students to thrive in both academic and functional settings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid TVI educator license (required)
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in an itinerant or school-based setting
- Strong understanding of adaptive techniques, assistive technology, and instructional strategies for visual impairments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel between multiple campuses within the district
- Organizational skills for managing a caseload across several locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to meet students Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Conduct functional vision assessments and support the development of accessible curricular materials
- Train staff and family members on strategies to help students access learning content
- Promote inclusion and independence through orientation and mobility support, as appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each student
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Work Details:
- Contract position available ASAP through July 3, 2026
- Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
- On-site, districtwide itinerant caseload
