Job Description

Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active Ohio Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
  • Experience supporting visually impaired students in educational settings
  • Comfortable traveling between school sites, with occasional home visits as necessary
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans and strategies for diverse learning environments
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies for visually impaired learners is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum to their unique needs
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on student progress and educational outcomes
  • Offer consultation and training to educational staff regarding accessibility accommodations and best practices
  • Flexibly manage a caseload spread across multiple buildings; occasional homebound instruction may be required
