Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting students with visual impairments and help foster an inclusive learning environment. An onsite teaching position for a skilled professional specializing in visual impairment is available for the upcoming academic years. This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week, with part-time considered based on availability) involves working directly with students, staff, and families to optimize educational strategies and resources for students who are blind or visually impaired.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Georgia Educator Certificate with specialization in teaching students with visual impairments (TVI)
  • Experience with a range of age groups and comfort customizing instructional techniques
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed daily service logs and documentation
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
  • Adaptability in working across varying caseloads, with assignments determined through discussion of skills and preferences

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction, accommodations, and support to students with visual impairments in an educational setting
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and specialists to foster student development
  • Engage in regular documentation and record-keeping of student progress and services rendered
  • Participate in pre/post planning days as needed
