Exciting opportunity for an onsite teacher specializing in supporting students who are visually impaired! This contract role offers a key position supporting learners within a dynamic special education environment, located near Columbus, GA. The assignment runs from August 3rd, 2026, through May 21st, 2027with the possibility of pre- and post-planning days. Full-time hours are available (at least 37.5 hours per week), and part-time options may be considered based on experience and district needs.
Bring your expertise in teaching students with visual impairments and play a vital part in shaping accessible learning for your assigned caseload. Interviews will be scheduled when budget approvals are complete (anticipated between June and early July). Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certificate in Visual Impairment (TVI) is required
- Experience supporting visually impaired students in a school-based or special education setting is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills and comfort with documentation requirements, including daily service logs
- Ability to collaborate with families, general education staff, and other support professionals
- Flexibility to align caseload by age group, according to district needs and your experience or preference
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct instruction and service delivery for students with vision impairments across various grade levels
- Development and implementation of IEP goals
- Maintenance of detailed daily logs for documentation purposes
- Consultation with educational staff and families to facilitate student success
- Active participation in IEP meetings and school/district professional development
