Job Description

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Texas Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) license is required
  • Experience working with K-12 students of varying abilities
  • Knowledge of IEP implementation and documentation processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and other service providers
  • Ability to design and deliver individualized lesson plans and modify curriculum materials

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to visually impaired students, ensuring accessibility and equity within the classroom
  • Develop individualized education plans in collaboration with IEP teams
  • Adapt curriculum and create tactile and visual aids as needed
  • Consult with classroom teachers to implement sensory strategies and ensure inclusion
  • Conduct ongoing progress assessments and maintain required documentation
  • Support families and staff in understanding best practices for students with visual impairments
