Job Description

Make a lasting impact supporting K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired on a rewarding contract opportunity spanning December 7, 2026, to June 11, 2027! This engaging position offers the flexibility of working in-person or virtually, with a weekly commitment of 30-32 hours. Youll play a key role across multiple locations in Southern Oregon, providing essential educational support to learners in Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties.

Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring students with visual impairments gain access to a tailored and inclusive education. This is a fantastic chance to grow your skills in a supportive educational environment while making a true difference in students lives.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Oregon Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification/licensure required
  • Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive instructional materials
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills with multidisciplinary teams
  • Comfortable delivering instruction both in-person and virtually

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students who are visually impaired
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to meet student needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress
  • Participate in the development and review of IEPs
  • Offer guidance and training on best practices for accessible education
  • Travel within assigned counties as needed
