Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) near Carrollton, VA! You will have the chance to work directly with a caseload of 14 students, collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to meet each students individual needs. This position is perfect for educators passionate about empowering students with visual impairments, helping them gain independence and reach their academic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Virginia TVI license.
  • Experience providing instruction and support to visually impaired students in a school setting.
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs).
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with parents, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services for a caseload of 14 visually impaired students.
  • Assess students needs and develop/adapt materials and lessons accordingly.
  • Track student progress and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Serve as a resource for general education staff, providing strategies for inclusion and accessibility.
  • Advocate for students access to educational opportunities and foster skills for independence.
