Qualifications:
- Georgia certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (required)
- Experience working with K-12 visually impaired students in a school setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate individual learning needs
- Knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and other specialized instructional tools
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to visually impaired students in various academic subjects
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) based on students unique needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Guide students in developing life skills and strategies for increased independence
