A full-time contract opportunity is available for a passionate and skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide direct and consultative services onsite. Key Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts TVI license required
- Prior experience working within a professional school setting
- Proven ability to adapt curriculum and materials for students with visual impairments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to liaise with educators, families, and related service providers
- Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students of all ages and abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and case management for students with visual impairments across K-12 grade levels
- Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt instructional materials, technology, and classroom environments to ensure full accessibility
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to support inclusive practices and strategies
- Provide guidance to families to reinforce skill development and progress
- Advocate for student needs and actively participate in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings
