Job Description
Make a positive impact in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized support to elementary and middle school students, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources needed to thrive academically and socially.
Youll work with a manageable caseload of 7 students across both middle and elementary grades for the remainder of the current school year on a part-time basis, with the option to continue full-time for the next school year. The assignment runs from March 2026 through May 20th, 2026, giving you the chance to develop strong relationships with your students and contribute to their growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification in Georgia
- At least two years of professional experience working with visually impaired students
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage cases and collaborate with school teams
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services catered to visually impaired students
- Manage student cases, including assessment, progress monitoring, and implementation of individualized education plans
- Maintain thorough records and document ongoing progress for each student
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success and inclusion
