Make a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a dynamic school setting near Brownsville, TX. Key Qualifications:

• Current certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in K-12 settings
• Strong understanding of specialized teaching strategies, adaptive technology, and Braille instruction
• Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, families, and support staff
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each students unique needs
• Deliver direct instruction in core academics, Braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills
• Adapt classroom materials and curriculum to ensure accessibility for visually impaired students
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide consultation and resources for school staff and parents
• Monitor student progress and maintain up-to-date records in accordance with district and regulatory guidelines
• Advocate for an inclusive educational experience while encouraging student independence and self-advocacy
