Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Demonstrated experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient, and flexible in addressing the unique needs of each learner

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and adapt instructional materials and lesson plans for students with visual impairments
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to provide consultative services and ensure accessible curriculum
• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility techniques, and the use of assistive technology as needed
• Conduct student assessments and participate in planning and IEP meetings
• Advocate for the individualized needs of visually impaired students to help them achieve their academic and social goals
• Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports as required
