Job Description

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license
  • Experience teaching or supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Familiarity with braille and assistive technology tools for students with low vision or blindness
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability for working in multiple educational settings
  • Comfort working in a contracted, school-based environment

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assess student needs and develop individualized educational plans
  • Deliver direct instruction in academic, social, and daily living skills tailored for visually impaired students
  • Adapt classroom materials and curriculum using specialized techniques and technology
  • Consult with general education teachers and related service staff to support inclusive practices
  • Provide guidance and support for families and caregivers
  • Maintain documentation and progress reports for student growth and compliance
  • Participate in virtual panel interviews as part of the hiring process
