A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Boston, MA. This onsite position involves working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the education and development of visually impaired students while working within a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students across K-12 grades.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress.
- Adapt curriculum materials and use assistive technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Maintain thorough documentation and communicate effectively with the educational team.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) license is required.
- Proven professional experience in working with visually impaired students in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies and adaptive technologies for visually impaired learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
