Job Description
Make a lasting difference in students lives as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 20262027 academic year. This contract position offers an opportunity to work onsite, supporting students near the Bellevue, WA area. The assignment runs from August 26, 2026, through June 16, 2027, with a manageable part-time schedule of 15 hours per week. Youll support a caseload of approximately 8 students, providing a variety of service minutes weekly, monthly, and quarterly, all tailored to student needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and valid Washington TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) Certification is required
- Must complete fingerprinting through OSPI before start date
- Experience working as a TVI or teaching students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with fellow educators, students, and families
- Comfortable working onsite-only for the duration of the assignment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services for a caseload of students with visual impairments, based on IEP/504 requirements
- Adapt curriculum materials and learning environments for equitable access
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and family members to develop individualized strategies
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting support as needed throughout the school year
- Maintain thorough records and comply with all program and district guidelines
