Job Description

Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired supporting students from kindergarten through twelfth grade at a renowned school for the blind. Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure in Maryland
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with K-12 students
  • Familiarity with adaptive technologies and Braille instruction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and other service providers
  • Adapt curriculum materials into accessible formats
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students and staff regarding visual impairment accommodations
