Job Description
Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired supporting students from kindergarten through twelfth grade at a renowned school for the blind. Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure in Maryland
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with K-12 students
- Familiarity with adaptive technologies and Braille instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and accessible learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and other service providers
- Adapt curriculum materials into accessible formats
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students and staff regarding visual impairment accommodations
