A full-time visual impairment teaching opportunity is available at a specialized school serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This role requires a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensed in Maryland to provide expert instruction and support to students with visual impairments, helping them achieve academic success and independence.
Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland TVI licensure
- Experience working with visually impaired students K-12
- Strong understanding of specialized teaching strategies for visual impairment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Job Details:
- Full-time position
- Five days per week (Monday through Friday)
- Work with a diverse caseload in a school for the blind environment
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction tailored to students visual abilities
- Conduct assessments and develop specialized educational plans to meet students needs
- Utilize assistive technology and adapted curriculum materials to enhance learning
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including occupational therapists, orientation and mobility specialists, and classroom teachers
- Provide training and resources to families and school staff to support student success
