A rewarding contract opportunity awaits for dedicated Teachers of the Visually Impaired eager to make a meaningful impact across multiple school sites near Aurora, IL. This full-time, itinerant position serves students from Pre-K through transition age, offering the chance to foster independence and support access to educational opportunities for visually impaired learners. The assignment runs from late August through early June, with the potential option for a part-time schedule.

Key Qualifications:

• Professional Educators License (PEL) with proper endorsement for teaching visually impaired students
• Masters degree required
• Minimum five years of experience working in a school-based setting
• Expertise in best practices for vision services and inclusive instruction
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and training skills with both new and experienced staff
• Commitment to timely completion of fingerprinting and any other onboarding requirements

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and instructional materials as needed
• Collaborate with the Vision Related Services Department, providing leadership in best practices for serving visually impaired students
• Mentor and coach educators, sharing knowledge and strategies to strengthen vision services district-wide
• Conduct professional development workshops and serve as a resource for colleagues, students, and families
• Travel between multiple school locations within the district to ensure consistent support across settings
• Advocate for students' access to resources, assistive technology, and support services to promote educational success
