Make a meaningful impact as an educator specializing in supporting students with visual impairments across a welcoming district near Aurora, IL. This full-time, itinerant position offers the opportunity to work between several schools, serving students from Pre-K through transition age. Youll have the chance to lead and support the Vision Related Services Department, lending your expertise in best practices, mentoring, and coaching both new and experienced staff.

As a Vision Related Services Leader, you will collaborate with families, advocate for resources, and help shape a supportive, inclusive educational environment. Your contributions will empower students and fellow educators alike.

Qualifications:

• Current Professional Educators License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement for teaching visually impaired students
• Masters degree in a related field
• At least 5 years of school-based experience working with visually impaired students
• Prior experience in staff mentoring, coaching, or training is highly valued
• Completion of fingerprinting required for credentialing

Primary Responsibilities:

• Travel to assigned schools within the district to deliver direct and consultative services
• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to students, families, and staff
• Lead professional development and training efforts within the vision services team
• Serve as a resource and advocate for best practices and materials
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize student outcomes
• Contribute to problem-solving and resource acquisition for vision-related needs
