Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support students within schools located in the Denver area, specifically Aurora, CO. This position will serve the 2026-2027 school year, starting in August and concluding in May. Assignments and school placements may vary depending on district needs and direct-hire preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to facilitate student success.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate vision-related challenges.
  • Maintain documentation related to student progress and compliance with district requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • Ability to complete required background check and fingerprinting.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work onsite within Aurora, CO; this role is not remote or travel-based.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Information:

  • The number of weekly hours and specific caseload will be determined closer to the start of the school year.
  • Interviews are being conducted now in preparation for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Open to candidates with varying levels of experience; pay rates are commensurate with experience.
