Job Description
Engage with students who are visually impaired in a meaningful way during the upcoming 20262027 school year. This onsite contract opportunity is for a part-time role offering 15 hours per week, supporting a caseload of 8 students near Auburn, WA. The assignment runs from August 26, 2026, through June 16, 2027. Work closely with students and staff to deliver individualized and impactful learning experiences, ensuring every students educational needs are met.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required
- Successful fingerprint clearance through OSPI prior to start
- Previous experience working as a TVI or with students who are visually impaired preferred
- Ability to organize and manage the needs of a diverse caseload with varying service minutes (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, administration, and families
- Commitment to professional, timely, and onsite service
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct special education services as outlined in each students IEP
- Modify curriculum materials and implement instructional strategies to accommodate visual impairments
- Develop, monitor, and report on student progress toward their individual goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related services, and parents to support holistic student success
- Assess and recommend adaptive technology and orientation/mobility strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and communication logs
