Job Description

Make an impact in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the 2026/2027 school year! This on-site contract role, located in the vibrant Denver area, offers the chance to support a local school community starting August 6, 2026, and continuing through May 26, 2027. Assignments and caseloads will be determined closer to the start date, as the district is currently finalizing staff placements. Both full-time and part-time opportunities may be available, so candidates with varying schedule preferences are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Valid CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Certification
  • Background check and fingerprinting required prior to assignment
  • Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), preferably in a school setting
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and support staff
  • Flexibility to serve multiple schools as needed
  • Adept in adjusting teaching strategies to accommodate diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to ensure accessibility and promote student achievement
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Offer resources and guidance to families regarding access and academic success
  • Potential to serve more than one school, as assigned
