Job Description
Seeking an experienced Visually Impaired Teacher to support students with visual impairments in a dedicated school setting. This contract role is located in Arlington, TX and requires expertise in specialized instruction to meet the unique educational needs of visually impaired students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students with visual impairments
- Provide direct instruction in orientation and mobility, Braille, adaptive technology, and other relevant skills
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure an inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records related to student performance and compliance with educational standards
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments
- Experience working with blind and visually impaired students in a school setting
- Knowledge of assistive technologies, Braille, and accessibility tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs
